Our goal has always been to preserve the spirit of Baga and keep alive the charm that was first brought by us !! We started this journey with heart, and we’re committed to running it with the same passion. For us, it’s more than just a sport. It’s a part of who we are, rooted in tradition for generations. No middlemen, no commissions, no scams, just honest experiences, run with love and passion. By cutting out third parties, we make sure your journey is not only real and affordable but also supports the local community directly. OUR HISTORY
Vhoddekar is a Konkani word (Goan mother tongue), meaning someone who owns a canoe. The Vhoddekar family, widely known throughout Goa, has deep ties to the ocean. Baga’s tourism story began in the early 1980s with our first wooden fishing canoe. While others used their canoes to catch fish, we envisioned something different and transformed them into soulful experiences. Eugenio, the heart of the Vhoddekar family, led the way to the northernmost edge of Goa. These trips were always magical, taking visitors to untouched beaches, hidden waters, and sharing local secrets. Spotting dolphins along the way and gliding through the waves allowed visitors to experience a side of Goa that most Indian tourists never see. We have earned people’s trust by serving with love and passion, driven by one purpose: to offer honest, direct, and soulful experiences for those seeking the real Goa. As the years passed, kayaking was born in Baga through one of the Vhoddekar bloodlines. While others mocked and laughed at the idea, convinced it would never work, she proved the strength of her heritage and her roots. Today, Alvira proudly carries forward her family legacy. When you choose us, remember this: she was once the subject of their jokes; now she stands as their rival. I recently had an amazing kayaking experience in Goa, and I have to say it was one of the highlights of my trip! The calm, clear waters combined with the stunning coastline created the perfect setting. What made it even better was having a personal trainer, who was super knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure I felt confident and safe the whole time, guiding me through the basic techniques and offering tips on improving my paddling skills. It felt like a tailored experience—he even shared cool insights about the local environment and wildlife, which added a lot of depth to the experience. The kayaks themselves were in great condition, and the whole outing felt relaxed yet exciting. Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, I highly recommend it. Having that personal touch with a trainer made the whole thing feel more special, and I definitely walked away feeling more skilled and connected to the beautiful waters of Goa.

It was a very serene River kayaking experience at Baga River. River was very clean and there was a lot to explore. Reservations would be an added benefit as you’ll get your slots on time and they would also advise you the right time. Find them in between the fishing canoes near the location under umbrella and look for specifically Alvira as she’s very professional!!!
